Tamil Nadu Thowheed Jamath (TNTJ, Tamil: தமிழ்நாடு தவ்ஹீத் ஜமாஅத்) is a non-political Islamic organization based in Tamil Nadu, India. It was started in 2004 when some members of Tamil Nadu Muslim Munnetra Kazagham (TMMK) had internal dispute. TNTJ claims to preach true Islam to Muslims and non-Muslims using Quran and Sunnah. ==History== The Indian Union Muslim League has been the traditional party of Muslims in the state. Its poor performance in elections and inability to the protect rights of Muslims led to the formation of a few political parties, pressure groups and NGOs including TMMK. In early days, TMMK gained popularity owing to its religious reforms, social services and judicial support for Muslims implicated in false charges. However, in 2004 some internal disputes lead to the breakaway of some members resulting in the formation of TNTJ. In January 2009, a faction of TNTJ members broke away under the leadership of S M Backer and started a new organization called India Thowheed Jamath (INTJ). War of words and organizational differences have been existing among these organizations resulting in members of one organization joining the other.〔(【引用サイトリンク】TMMK office-bearers join Thouheedh Jamaath )〕
